The Song-Ghost Goddess

The Halloween is here again, on schedule year after year… so a few months ago Mark Artecki (Marek Stoklosa) wrote a song “Ghost Goddess” a perfect subject for the season. The Song’s story is about a beautiful girl whom a guy got enchanted with….They begun dating. But with passing time he discovers that at night this beauty, this dream of his life, morphs into a monster with jaws looking scary….pretty dreadful situation, hmmmmm

But the love always wins, so he decides and turns to be a ghost so they can live happily after together…

Even ghosts deserve a nice life and a Ghost girl or a “Ghostette” deserves a ring too. Everything being fair, right?

The song has this cool sharp lead guitar solos or bites I would say to be in line with the theme of the song. The video for the song has depicted ghosts in a cool and funny way, somewhat scary but then Halloween is supposed to be scary. May be the song is a Halloween night dream? probably yes as Ghosts do not exist but for decades they have made people happy or scared… lots of movies were created about these creatures from the other side. We all sometimes like to be like children specially on Halloween. It was so much fun getting sweets and dressing up…Adults too, go to parties, dress up and play ghost games…we are all ghosts at heart for that particular day.

You know it is interesting that the next day after Halloween, November 1st, is a day of All Saints, where in some parts of the world people, in the evening, visit graves of their loved ones, light up an array of candles, talk to neighbors, reflect…. these candles flicker and represent ghosts or souls…it is believed to be a happy time for them. During these times people admire thousands of flickering candles, talk and share stories of their relatives who have passed on.

It is good to have that perspective as some traditions are very important to keep and reflecting on the past is a nice thing-an education to some degree. Also referencing our ancestors, who in their small or big way made this world better puts all in perspective. We should always remember that and continue on this path as one day the candle will be lit for us…
